| Lodi (Yellow Transparent) | |
|
Available: Mid - Late July Taste: Sweet Use: Baking History: This apple was imported from Russia in 1870. It is of medium size and the skin is thin and tender. The flesh is white, moderately firm, crisp, tender and juicy. It is sprightly subacid with a pleasant but not high flavor. Good for pies when green. However, because the Lodi is an early apple, it does not have a long storage life. |
