10/23-24: Fleeting Fall Moment

With this post, I’m going to share a bit ‘behind the scenes’ into our cider mill. There will be more to share even next weekend. Our posts are written each week by me (Heidi Neuroth) and I live in Pasadena, CA….while the rest of the family is scampering around getting work done in Salem, MI and the Plymouth Farmer’s Market.

We will be joining my family next weekend from Pasadena to share in the tradition that I hope you have taken time with your family to do this year. My brother Peter and I grew up with apple picking, the smell of cinnamon donuts, sticky cider on my shoes and early morning in the dark setup at the markets… and all that came with it (that’s 50 years!). My parents would love if you come by have a Northern Spy apple pie (evidently you can freeze them I’m told….one less thing to do for Thanksgiving?), caramel apples (I have dibs on four of them), warm donuts and the sweetest cider you’ll enjoy in the season. Is there upick or hay rides…no. But please go take a walk in the orchard and enjoy just being there. We’ll be joining you soon.
