Ordering Cider and Donuts for a Party
/
A tray of warm donuts and a jug of cold cider is the easiest party food we know. Planning the amounts is the part people get wrong. Here is how to figure it out and how our party order process works.
How much do you need?
Use these as starting points:
- Donuts: plan on one and a half donuts per adult and two per child. A dozen feeds about eight people.
- Cider: a gallon pours around sixteen 8-ounce cups, but most guests take a half cup to start. Plan one gallon for every six to eight people.
- Extras: if the party runs past two hours, add a third more of both.
What we offer
At the time of writing, our party order page lists apple cinnamon donuts, either cinnamon sugar or plain, at $7.25 per dozen, and fresh-pressed apple cider at $7 per gallon. Orders of more than 5 dozen donuts plus 4 gallons of cider receive a 10 percent discount, which feeds roughly 20 to 40 people. Prices may change, so confirm them on the order page.
How to place an order
- Open the party order form.
- Fill in your name, email and phone number.
- Write the number of dozen donuts and gallons of cider, and choose a pickup date.
- Submit the form. We follow up by phone to set a pickup time and confirm payment or a deposit.
We suggest ordering a week ahead, especially for October weekends, when the mill is at its busiest.
Serving tips
- Keep cider cold in a cooler and pour small batches into a pitcher so it stays chilled.
- Warm the cider on the stove with a cinnamon stick for a cold evening. Do not boil it.
- Serve donuts the same day. Cover them loosely so the sugar coating does not go damp.
- For Halloween parties, set cider out in a clear dispenser with orange cups and let children pour their own.
Leftovers
Extra cider can be refrigerated for about a week or frozen, as described in our guide to keeping apples and cider fresh. For questions about a large order, use the Contact Us page.
